Werner Looks for First Senior Open Win

May 13, 2014

Dyer’s Terry Werner was one of only two players to better
par today at the Indiana PGA Senior Open presented by Yamaha – Golf Cars + at
Morris Park CC. Werner fired a
3-under-par 67 today and heads to the final round with a two shot lead over Quinn
Griffing of Donald Ross GC.

“I didn’t miss a fairway and I putted really well today,”
Werner said. “I hope to go out there and
play well again tomorrow.”

Werner’s round consisted of five birdies coming on the par
4, 8th, the par 4, 10th, the par 3, 15th, the
par 4, 17th and the par 5, 18th. He only carded two bogeys today.

“I love playing golf and being able to compete,” Werner
said. “Like any Indiana Golf event, it
would mean a lot to me to win.”

Werner, a two-time Senior Amateur Champion (’09, ’12), looks
for his first Senior Open win tomorrow.

Indianapolis’ Dave Fleming will play with Werner and
Griffing in the lead group tomorrow.
Fleming sits alone in third at 1-over-par.
