Timothy Wiseman Captures PGA Professional Championship Title on His First Attempt

Jun 7, 2022

Timothy Wiseman captured his very first PGA Professional Championship win today at Prairie View Golf Club.

Wiseman went into the final round today tied for third after finishing the first round at +1. He started today off strong with a handful of birdies on hole 2,3, and 5, eventually closing out the front side at 2-under par.

“I think the course played differently today. I think yesterday it was really firm and really fast, and the wind was blowing a lot more. Compare that with me not hitting it very well. I didn’t make it very easy on myself. We got some rain last night so it was a little softer, and a little less breezy, and I started to hit it better and rolled in some putts” said Wiseman.

Wiseman had a fantastic back nine, birdieing holes 11-13 and hole 16. Wiseman remained neck and neck with Brian Garrett after making the turn, receiving a lot of energy following his stellar birdie putt on 16 that moved him into the lead. Wiseman finished with a clutch final round of 6-under (66) bringing his two-day total to 5-under par.

“I don’t know what my reaction was, but it was kind of out-of-body. I was just hoping I could two-putt and I got it going on a good line. When it fell, I think I screamed” said Wiseman.

Today was Wiseman’s first attempt at this Championship, as he just received his Class A status this past April.

“It’s special. I think for all of the members this is probably one of the bigger ones on their schedule. To win it period is special, but to win it on the first try is pretty cool. Doing it with my dad on the bag, and having a bunch of people out here watching me means a lot. I can’t wait to go home and share it with my members and all of my friends and family back home” said Wiseman.
