Seth Fair Wins State Open for the Second Time

Jul 13, 2022

The 107th Indiana State Open has concluded at the Club at Chatham Hills, with Professional Seth Fair coming out victorious once again.

Fair finished all three rounds at an outstanding total of 12-under par, and even more impressively, he closed out with a four stroke lead over the remaining competition.

“I think in 2013, I was newly professional and I think it might have been my biggest professional win to that date. So it was really important to just get over that hump as a professional and win a golf tournament” said Fair.

Fair added “With being a top player in Indiana and coming off of two runner-ups, I feel like I put some extra expectations on myself to play well and try to win today. I think I handled it well and was able to come out on top and see all that hard work pay off” said Fair.

Fair previously mentioned that he struggled on the greens the first two rounds, but he was able to pull through with some impressive putting today, including a thirty foot birdie putt on the last hole.

“I think the greens were a touch softer today, a little bit more receptive, and I was able to get the ball in closer than I have been the last couple days. I gave myself some really good looks for birdie and that momentum just carried over. It was nice to see that long one go in on the last hole, I can promise you that” said Fair.

Runner- up and top Amateur, Peyton Snoeberger held a one shot lead over Seth Fair going into the final round today, but fell short with an 8-under par finish.

“Today was not my best but I kind of pieced it together. I had some good spots and some bad spots, but that’s golf. Overall it has been a really good week. I am really proud of the way I played and to see the work I have put in the last few months finally start to pay off” said Snoeberger.
