This weekend, Team Kokomo and Team Prestwick will represent Indiana at the Regional PGA Junior League Championship at Prestwick CC.  Team Kokomo defeated Team Noblesville in a tie breaker and went on to defeat Team Chesteron 8-4 at Swan Lake Resort to capture the North Indiana Championship.  Two weeks later, Team Prestwick came away South Indiana Champions at Deer Creek GC with 11.5-.5 victories over Teams Indy One and Bloomington.

“It means the world to the kids to advance to Regionals,” said Marc Goodier, Coach of Team Kokomo.  “Our team lost in the Sub-Regional Finals last year and their goal was to make it to Regionals again this year.  Being around this group of kids is rewarding and watching the bonds formed has been gratifying for all involved.”

The Regional Champions will advance to the PGA JLG Championship in Atlanta, Ga. October 24-26, at TPC Sugarloaf.

“The kids, families and coaches are excited to have the opportunity to compete at the next level,” said Amy Nickol, Assistant Coach of Team Prestwick.  “We have two more goals and I think the kids have the determination to achieve them.  In between all of the tournaments the kids have been practicing.  Their work ethic is admirable.”
