Pepsi Max Masters Tour announces changes for 2011

Jan 7, 2011

The Pepsi Max Masters Tour will have a different look and improved player benefits in 2011. All Pepsi Max Masters Tour events will now be 36-hole competitions, including both one and two-day events. The move to 36-holes will allow all Pepsi Max Masters Tour events to be nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard, increasing our player’s national visibility.

Although 2011 members have already been selected, non-members will be given some access to these events and opportunities to play their way into membership throughout the season unlike past years. Players that are members of the Mountain Dew Junior Tour are considered non-members of the Pepsi Max Masters Tour and may register under these guidelines.

Pepsi Max Masters Tour Non-Member Information

Registration Opens April 18, 2011

$125 entry fee per tournament

Non-Members are not eligible for the Tour Championship

Players must be at least 13 years old to be eligible

To earn membership a non-member must finish in the top 40% of their respective division in a Masters Tour event. If a player does qualify in this manner, they will be refunded the difference between the member and non-member entry fees ($35/tournament) for each Pepsi Max Masters Tour event they have played in or registered for, less the $65 Pepsi Max Masters Tour membership fee. If a player gains membership status after one event, they will need to pay the remainder of the $65 membership fee to play in additional Pepsi Max Masters Tour events that season.

Non-members may also earn membership during the season by meeting one of the following criteria, which would entitle them to the refund listed above:

Top 20 players & ties at the Girls State Junior Championship (stroke play)

Age Group Championship winners for ages 15-18

Top 10 Boys and Top 5 Girls at the Indiana Section Junior PGA Qualifier

Boys Champions at the Mountain Dew Tour Championship

Boys Mountain Dew Tour Points Champions

Match Play Qualifiers at the Boys State Junior Championship

Players invited to be members prior to the start of the season are not eligible to register or play as a non-member.

In order to maintain a competitive environment, scoring limits will be in place for all non-members. Any non-member that has a Pepsi Max Masters Tour score over the following 36-hole limit will not be eligible for additional Pepsi Max Masters Tour events in that season.

Boys- 180 (36 holes)

Girls- 185 (36 holes)

Non-members that Unjustifiably Withdraw during a round or No Card at a Pepsi Max Masters Tour event will not be eligible for additional Pepsi Max Masters Tour events in that season. Withdraws will be handled on a case-by-case basis and any doubt as to the reason for withdraw will be resolved against the player.
