NCAA Qualifier and Recent Graduate Leads Indianapolis Open

May 16, 2011

In the midst of two significant accomplishments – advancing
as an individual to the Regionals of the NCAA Men’s Golf National Tournament to
be held May 19-21 near his hometown and graduating from Ball State University,
Eric Steger also dominated the 156-player field at the E-Z-GO Indianapolis Open
presented by TLC Monday. Windy conditions and thick rough at Brickyard Crossing
proved challenging for much of the field, but Steger was able to card eight
birdies during the day to shoot 68 and gain a 2-shot advantage heading into
Tuesday’s final round.

Blair Shadday fired a 70, and Ryan Ford and Patrick
Kundenreich (a) both shot 71.

The field was cut to low 60 scores and ties at 78. See first round results and final round pairings here.
