Oct 26, 2012

Morgan Nadaline, Anderson and Johnny Watts, Fishers have been named the 2012 Pepsi Indiana Junior Golf Program Players of the Year. Both players lead the Player of the Year standings heading into the Oakley Hoosier Junior Championship where they each carded top-10 finishes to wrap up the title.

For Morgan, the award makes back-to-back Pepsi Junior Program Player of the Year honors in addition to a Mountain Dew Junior Tour Player of the Year award in 2009. Morgan’s highlight of the 2012 season was a win at the 62nd Girls State Junior Championship where she won four matches en route to the Championship and also took Medalist honors by six shots. In other Indiana Championships, Morgan added top-5 finishes at the Indiana Section Junior PGA Championship and Oakley Hoosier Junior Championship. On a national level, Morgan again proved her match play prowess by finishing runner-up at the Women’s Western Junior Championship.

On the boys’ side, it was all about consistency for Watts, who carded four top-5 finishes and two additional top-10’s on the season. Johnny had runner-up finishes at the Northern and Central Junior Masters events and added a 4th place result at the Masters Tour Championship. The total of those events led him to the 2012 Pepsi Max Masters Tour Points Championship. In Championship play, Johnny, had a third place finish in the 16 year old division at the Age Group Championship and top-10’s at the Indiana Section Junior PGA Championship and Oakley Hoosier Junior Championship. Johnny also qualified for match play at the 87th Boys State Junior Championship.

All Pepsi Indiana Junior Golf Program Players of the Year will be honored at the annual Indiana Golf Hall of Fame Banquet on November 2 in Carmel.
