Marsh Early Leader at Indiana PGA Professionals Championship

Aug 12, 2013

Despite a late afternoon rain delay, almost the entire field
was able to complete 36 holes today at the Indiana PGA Professionals
Championship presented by Club Car, Mercedes Benz, and Omega held at Sand Creek
CC in Chesterton. Jeff Marsh of Deer
Track is the current leader in the clubhouse after firing a 3-under-par 69 this
morning and a 1-under-par 71 this afternoon for a total of 140, 4-under-par.

“I drove the ball well and I putted really well all day,”
Marsh said. “I made one poor swing on my
17th hole in the afternoon, the par 4, 8th which cost me
a little bit. Other than that I played very consistently and was never really
in any trouble.”

The five top finishers will qualify for the 2014 Professional
National Championship, which will be held June 22-25, 2014 at the Dunes Golf
& Beach Club and Grande Dunes Resort Club in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Marsh, an Assistant Professional, qualified for the 37th
Callaway Golf PGA Assistant National Championship last week after finishing in
a tie for third and winning in a playoff at Brickyard Crossing GC.

“I hope to continue to play well tomorrow and everything
else will take care of itself,” Marsh said.
“I have never qualified for the Professional National Championship, and
to qualify for that and the Assistant National Championship in the same year
would be really special.”

Dave Pugh of Mystic Hills GC is
currently alone in second at 2-under-par for the tournament.

The remaining nine groups will
finish their second rounds tomorrow morning starting at 7:30 a.m.
