High School Senior Wins Northern Open

Sep 24, 2015

Keegan Bronnenberg, a senior at Muncie Central, fired a 3-under-par, 67 to win his very first Indiana Golf event.  Playing on his home course, Delaware CC, Bronnenberg finished in a tie with John DalCorobbo of Brickyad Crossing and went on to defeat him in a playoff to claim the Northern Open title.

“It definitely helps to know the course,” Bronnenberg said.  “I know where the best spots to miss are.  I hit my approach shots very close today and that helped me to score well.”

Bronnenberg will attend IPFW next fall and join the men’s golf team.  This was his first time participating in an Indiana Golf event, outside of the junior tour.

“It honestly is an unreal feeling to have won this event,” Bronnenberg said.  “To play with the best players in Indiana and be able to post a good score is really special.”

Playing in a field of mostly 30+ PGA professionals, Bronnenberg says that age did not intimidate him.

“I didn’t feel nervous playing with more experienced players today,” Bronnenberg said.  “I was excited to be in a field with such great competition.”

The playoff was completed on the par-4, 1st after Bronnenberg made par to DalCorobbo’s bogey.

As the season wraps up, we would like to thank all of our sponsors for their support as well as our players for participating.
