Columbus’ Tobi Herron grabbed a 2-shot lead today at the IWGA Mid-Am at Hillview CC over Noblesville’s Lisa Cook and Greenwood’s Kristi Piepenbrink Trotter. Herron fired a 1-over-par 73 today and is looking for her third title at this event.
Herron’s round consisted of two birdies coming on the par 4, 1st, and the par 5, 17th. She only carded three bogeys today coming on holes 4, 10, and 13.
Herron won this event back-to-back in 2009 and 2010. If she were able to win tomorrow she would join Nancy Fitzgerald and Julie Carmichael, in winning this event three times.
