Mar 19, 2009

The Folds of Honor Foundation presented educational scholarships to the three children of Indianapolis Fire Captain Gary Henry, a sergeant in the Indiana National Guard who was killed last year while serving in Iraq. The presentation was made at a ceremony held during the Indiana PGA of America Section meeting this afternoon.

Folds of Honor is a legacy foundation that awards college scholarships to spouses and dependent children of service members disabled or killed in military service. Folds of Honor founder Maj. Dan Rooney and Executive Director Ed Pulido, a retired Army major, honored the 34-year-old father’s three children, Shelby (15), Gavin (11) and Ashton (8). They were joined by Indiana Adjutant General Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger, PGA of America President Jim Remy, PGA of America Secretary Ted Bishop, Indianapolis Fire Chief Brian Sanford and other dignitaries.
