Ben Engle of The Woodstock GC posted a 3-under-par, 67 today at Broadmoor CC to grab his second Indiana PGA Section win. Engle finished in a tie with Ivan Foster of Bridgewater GC during the final Tournament Series event of the season presented by Club Car and 2UNDR, and won with par on the third playoff hole.
“I was 2-over through six holes and managed to turn it around,” Engle said. “I finished birdie par birdie and I’m excited to finish off the season like this.”
Engle carded five birdies today at Broadmoor coming on holes 7, 9, 10, 12 and 15. His lone bogey of the day came on the par-4, 6th.
Engle won the 2014 Indiana PGA Assistants Championship at Brickyard Crossing after posting an opening round of 63. This year, he leads in points and looks for his first ever Assistant Player of the Year title.
“This win means a lot to me,” Engle said. “It’s exciting to be leading in the Assistants points. I had been playing solid all year, but hadn’t won anything. It feels great to get another win in such a strong Section.”
