Carmichael and Cole Claim Second IWGA Team Championship Title

Jun 15, 2012

Martinsville, Ind. – “We make a good team because we play
the same game,” said Julie Carmichael after she and partner, Courtney Cole shot a 69,
taking first place at the IWGA Team Championship at Foxcliff Golf Club in
Martinsville, Indiana.  “We know
how to ham and egg it really well, and we were fortunate to have several
birdies today, “ said Cole.

Carmichael and Cole drive the ball a similar distance, and have
fairly comparable games, making them a team to be reckoned with in these
two-person best-ball events.
Carmichael said, “We know how to help each other out.”

Their best-ball victory earned them $100 each worth of
merchandise at Foxcliff Golf Club.
There was a three-way tie for second including the duos: Cook/Higgins,
Freese/Ward, and Whalen/Piependrink Trotter, all shooting 70s in the gross
portion of the competition.

When looking at net scores, Zoey Freese and Molly Ward used their handicaps to help them fire a 9-under par 63.  They also took home $100 of merchandise
from Foxcliff Golf Club.
