Callaway Assistants Championship

An afternoon round of 6-under-par 66 at The Legends jumped Blair Shadday of Purgatory GC into first place at the Callaway Assistants Championship. His morning round of 72 left him tied in third and four shots out of the lead held by Jamie Broce of Indiana University. With room for only two assistants from Indiana to advance to the national tournament, Shadday knew he had to shoot a low number to have a chance at competing on the national level. Even though he stuggled off the tee, recovering to make six birdies and no bogeys allowed him to do just that. Broce carded a 71 in the afternoon round to sit in the runner-up position heading into the final day.
