Two First Tee Indiana Members Accepted To Leader Summit In Montana

Jul 10, 2021

Two First Tee- Indiana members were chosen on June 28 to represent Indiana in the 2021 First Tee Leader Summit August 2-13 at PGA TOUR Superstore Chairman and PGA TOUR First Tee Foundation Board Member Arthur M. Blank’s West Creek Ranch in Montana. The program is designed to strengthen the participants' leadership skills, character, self-confidence, and resilience through various activities and workshops that will help them prepare for the future.

Samuel Reising from the Richmond location and Brett Lutzke from the Indianapolis location were the two First Tee members from Indiana chosen, and they went through a stringent application process to achieve this great honor.

Reising and Lutzke filled out a 22-page application where they had to answer various questions about themselves and about their First Tee experience to be selected. In order to apply and be selected they needed to have completed a 5-week Leadership Series through their First Tee location, be in high school as of spring 2021, and be an active First Tee participant for more than a year. Reising has been involved with First Tee since 2016 and Lutzke has been a participant since 2017.

Forty candidates total from First Tee locations across the country were chosen to be a part of the prestigious Summit. Each First Tee chapter location was able to nominate three participants. After being nominated, the players were chosen by judges from the First Tee chapter network staff, coaches, and staff members from both PGA TOUR Superstore headquarters and First Tee.

Reising and Lutzke are excited to be chosen to represent Indiana at the Summit and strengthen their skills the First Tee has already taught them.

“I always credit the First Tee in giving me the social skills I have today,” Reising said. “I am very proud of how I am able to talk to people and overcome adversity.”
