Two rounds are complete at the 2026 IWGA Women’s Amateur Championship, and the race for the title has taken shape as players head into Thursday’s final round at Rock Hollow Golf Club.
The championship began Tuesday with a tightly packed leaderboard, as just four strokes separated the top six players. Paige Giovenco opened the tournament with a 4-under-par 68 to claim the first-round lead, followed closely by Claire Swathwood at 3-under, Samantha Brown at 2-under, and Kylee Purdy, Taylor Larkins and Jordan Adam all at 1-under.
Round two, however, presented an entirely different challenge.
With temperatures soaring to 92 degrees and very little airflow throughout the golf course, players battled through the hottest day of the season. As the conditions became more demanding, the leaderboard saw plenty of movement.
Claire Swathwood continued her steady play with a second-round 70 to move to 5-under-par for the championship, giving herself a four-shot advantage heading into the final 18 holes.
Julia Potter-Bobb made one of the biggest moves of the day, following her opening-round 72 with a 1-under-par 71 to climb into solo second at 1-under overall.
Three players sit tied for third at even par, including Eleanor Schuitema, whose 3-under-par 69 matched the low round of the day. Josie Kelley and Addi Kooi also enter the final round at even par, while Lexi Ray, Sophie McGinnis and Taylor Larkins remain within striking distance at 1-over.
With one round remaining, Swathwood will look to maintain her lead, but a talented group of challengers still has an opportunity to make a final push for the championship.
