Indiana Professional Golf Association, CROWN POINT, IN (June 9) – A new venue and picture-perfect weather set the stage for an exciting finish at the 2025 Northern Open, held at White Hawk Country Club for the first time for the Indiana PGA Section. Competitors teed it up on the club’s Gray Hawk and Black Hawk courses, enjoying pristine conditions and a warm welcome from the Crown Point facility.
With sunny skies and only a touch of wind in the afternoon, players were treated to ideal tournament conditions. Many were visiting the club for the first time—and it left a lasting impression.
At the top of the leaderboard stood Payton Snoeberger, who fired a 5-under-par round to win the Northern Open by three shots. A highlight on his scorecard was on holes 3-6 with four birdies in a row to put him in the lead. His steady play held off a trio of challengers who finished tied for second at 2-under: Vince Drahman, Eric Steger, and Michael Davan.

“My game’s felt really good the last couple weeks—ball striking especially,” said Snoeberger. “I was able to get some positive momentum going early and just carried it throughout the round.”
It was also his first time seeing the course. “I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but the course conditions were great, and the setup was really good. It was a fun day,” he added.
Indiana Golf extends its thanks to the staff at White Hawk Country Club for their hospitality and exceptional course preparation, and congratulates all the players who competed in this year’s Northern Open.
