Smith and Miller Lead the Pack at the IGA Senior Team Championship

Jun 6, 2012

Franklin, Ind. – “We pushed each other to play better,” said Ted Smith after he and playing partner, Tim Miller fired a best ball, 63 today, at the IGA Senior Team Championship at Hillview Country Club.  Smith and Miller frequently play together down in Gator Creek, Fla., and know each others’ games well.

“We’re both good putters and we made some putts today,” said Smith.  Smith and Miller sit at the top of the leader board going into the final round tomorrow.

In second place is one of Indiana’s most successful amateur golf partnerships, Skip Runnels and Randy Nichols.  In addition to winning the Senior Team in 2012, they have teamed up to win two Mid-Am Team Championships and four Four Ball Championships.

The leaders will tee off just before 10 a.m. tomorrow and the format will be the same as today, a two-man best ball competition.  The winners will each take home a $300 prize.
