Schmidt Leaving for New Hampshire Golf Association/DeHaven Joins Golf Office Staff

Jun 20, 2013

Indiana Golf Office Tournament Director Matt Schmidt has
accepted the Executive Director’s position with the New Hampshire Golf
Association. Schmidt, who has been with the Golf Office for 7 years, 5 as
Tournament Director, will assume his new duties September 9th.

” While I’m extremely excited for this opportunity, I will
miss all of the great people my family and I have met in the last 7 years”,
said Schmidt. “I was truly blessed to have worked alongside such talented
individuals. I want to thank everyone for their support and kind words as my
family and I start on this new journey.”

Schmidt is a 2004 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he
majored in American Studies. He served 9 months with the Golf Office as a USGA
PJ Boatwright Jr. Intern before joining the staff as Assistant Tournament
Director.

The New Hampshire Golf Association was formed in 1905 and
has 100 member courses and 15,000 individual members. The Association is
headquartered in Concord, New Hampshire.

“I’m thrilled for Matt”, said Indiana Golf Office Executive
Director, Mike David. “This is a tremendous opportunity for him to take the
lead of a golf association. We are certainly sorry to see him go and appreciate
his efforts over the last 7 years for the Golf Office. It sounds as though New
Hampshire is looking to grow their foundation and improve their visibility
within the state. I think Matt’s experiences here will allow him to bring a
wide range of knowledge to his new position.”

Todd DeHaven, PGA Professional, will join the Golf Office
staff to replace Schmidt. DeHaven is a 1985 graduate of Ball State University
where he was a four-year letter winner in golf. He was co-captain of the
1984-85 Ball State Golf Team.

“Todd will bring a tremendous amount of experience and
maturity to this position,” said David. “I think he will be welcomed by our
tournament players and it is a bonus for him to have some time to shadow Matt
before his departure. I think that will make for a seamless transition for our
tournament players.”

DeHaven was elected to PGA Membership in 1989 and served as
head professional of the Seymour Elks Country Club from 1989 to 2006. In 2006
he was hired as the Director of Golf at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour,
Indiana. He served in that role until 2012 when he joined Kocolene Development
Corporation as an Operations Support Manager.

A native of Huntington, Indiana, he resides in Seymour with
his wife Noelle. He has three daughters, Chelsie, Preston and Paxton.
