Kyle Perry’s 10-under-par 61 set a new course record at Stony Creek Friday at the IGA Public Links Championship. “That was something else, and finding out it’s a new course record makes it 10 times better,” said Perry of Bloomington. “I hope I play half as good tomorrow.” He was nine under par through 11 holes and credited all the birdies to his putting. “I putted really well and made everything I looked at.”
This is a new tournament low for Perry, whose previous competitive best was 65.
Brodie Williams of Lapel, Brian Green of Lafayette and 2009 champion Eric Steger of Noblesville are tied in second place six shots behind.
