Marshall Shoots 65 to Win Tournament Series

Aug 11, 2015

With the help of an eagle on the par-5, 2nd, Adam Marshall of Eagle View GC grabbed his second Tournament Series Event title.  Marshall posted a tremendous 7-under-par, 65 today at Hillview CC, which was enough for a two shot victory over Rick Witt, The Bridgewater GC, and Rob Knuckles, The Sagamore GC.

“I was a little bit wild off the tee today, but my irons and putting were very good,” Marshall said.  “Whenever I had a 60 degree wedge in my hands, I felt very confident that I could make birdie.”

Marshall carded six birdies today coming on holes 3, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 17.  His lone bogey of the day came on the par-3, 14th after three-putting.

“I’ve been trying to get my game ready for the Professional Championship in a few weeks here,” Marshall said.  “It feels great to get a win today and I’m honestly a little bit surprised.”

Marshall recently became the Head Professional at Eagle View GC in Loogootee, Ind. and says it means a lot to bring home a win to his new club.

“Our members always ask how I play in PGA events, and it feels good to come home with a win for Eagle View.  The competition is so great in our section and there are so many guys capable of winning.  The level of play is honestly really neat.”

Paul Resner, the Head Professional at Hillview CC, finished in fourth at 4-under-par.
