After two rounds of the 117th Indiana Amateur Championship, Michael Makris of South Bend has taken a 3-shot lead after posting rounds of 69-70 for a 5-under-par total at The Hawthorns G&CC. Makris, a rising Senior at Ball State University, made five birdies on the day and was a many as 7-under-par until a bogey-double bogey stretch at the 15th and 16th holes. Makris, however, responded with a birdie at the difficult 17th.
