This August, PGA Junior League Teams Kokomo and Prestwick competed at their City Championships with the hopes of advancing to Regionals. After defeating Team Hamilton County East in a tie breaker and Team Chesterton 8-4 at Swan Lake Resort, Team Kokomo captured the PGA JLG North Indiana Championship. Two weeks later, Team Prestwick came away PGA JLG South Indiana Champions at Deer Creek GC with 11.5-.5 victories over Teams Indy One and Bloomington.
In late September, Teams Kokomo and Prestwick competed once again and on a bigger stage. In order to win the Regional Championship, the Indiana teams had to not only knock out Grand Blanc, Columbus, but also one another. The matches were contested at Prestwick CC, and hometown favorite Team Prestwick finished on top with a perfect 3-0 record. The Team advanced to the PGA JLG Championship at TPC Sugarloaf in Atlanta, Ga., which was held October 24-26.
