Indiana Golf Announces the Addition of the Indiana Golf Course Superintendents Association

Aug 8, 2022

With the vision of Indiana Golf being the vital hub for golf in Indiana, the organization proudly announces their expansion with the addition of the Indiana Golf Course Superintendents Association (IGCSA) into their umbrella of organizations headquartered under Indiana Golf.

As of today, August 8th, 2022, the IGCSA is now part of the hub that includes four other golf related not-for- profits: Indiana Golf Association (IGA), Indiana Section of the PGA, Indiana Women’s Golf Association (IWGA), and the Indiana Golf Foundation (IGF).

Indiana Golf’s Executive Director Mike David states, “Golf Course Superintendents are obviously a vital part of the industry, and bringing them amongst Indiana Golf’s organization makes sense from the standpoint of continuing to work toward a unified voice, and a cooperative working relationship, for as many golf related organizations as possible in the state of Indiana.”

The Indiana Golf Course Superintendents Association has over 50 members, with thirty-five of those being made up of golf course superintendents members, and the remaining number being business professionals that service the turfgrass industry, turfgrass students, and various college faculty members. The purpose of the Association is to foster relationships between members for the betterment of golf courses throughout Indiana.

Until today, The IGCSA has never had a full-time staff and has had to rely on a volunteer board to administer all aspects of the organization.

IGCSA President Jim Loupee, from The Bridgewater Club, had the following statement on the merger: “On behalf of the Indiana Golf Course Superintendents Association, we are pleased to partner with Indiana Golf to better serve our members and further grow the game of golf. With their vision and passion for the game, it only makes sense to

team up to have both associations move forward to achieve our goals.”
