Emily Podzielinski and Abby Cotter, both collegiate student-athletes, dominated the IWGA Women’s Team Championship June 2 with a 7-under-par 64 at The Fort GC in Indianapolis. While the 5355 yard track played significantly shorter than what the competitors encounter at NCAA tournaments, The Fort’s layout still posed tough challenges that the team overcame to win the event. They made a combined seven birdies in the Four Ball (best ball) format to edge out past champions Lyndsay McBride and Alison Tyler who finished at 6-under-par 65. McBride and Tyler’s net 61 earned them first in the Net Division and bumped Nina Whalen and Frances Walker into second place in the Gross Division with their round of 66.
