Matt Fox, Indianapolis, and Paul Hansan, Fishers, dominated the field today at the IGA Four Ball Championship at Bear Slide GC. The duo cared an 8-under-par, 63 to grab a three shot lead heading into tomorrow’s final round.
“The golf course is in perfect condition,” Fox said. “We both played steady today and didn’t make many mistakes, which definitely alleviated the pressure.”
Fox made eagle on the par-5, 8th which contributed to their low score.
“I went driver, 4-iron, landed just over the green in the fringe and made the putt,” Fox said.
The pair also made birdie on holes 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 15, and 17. Their lone bogey of the day came on the par-4, 18th.
“Matt played great today,” Hansan said. “We did a good job of keeping the ball in front of us and always remaining in the hole.”
There is currently a three-way tie for second at 5-under-par between teammates Dave Richter and Colin Terry, Kenny Cook and Joe Mahurin, and Jack Ebbeler and Keith Bowman.
