Jun 5, 2014

After defeating first round medalist Julia Potter in 23
holes at the IWGA Match Play Championship at Heartland Crossing Golf Links,

7 & 5 this afternoon.

“My putter was probably my best thing today,” Beegle said. “Sometimes staying consistent with my game
can be a struggle for me, so I hope to continue to do that tomorrow. Winning two years in a row would mean a lot
to me. Match play is definitely my favorite
format.”

Seymour’s Paxton DeHaven her match in the round of 8 this morning against
soon-to-be teammate Zoey Freese of Indianapolis. DeHaven defeated Freese 4 & 2 to advance
to the final four this afternoon. DeHaven again won by a large margin in
her second match of the day against Plainfield’s Breanna Patz, defeating her 5
& 4.

“I just played really smart today,” DeHaven said. “My driver never really got me in trouble and
I played for the center of the greens.
If I made a putt, great, if not I took par and moved on. I hope to continue to hit fairways and greens
tomorrow and play smart.

morning at 7 a.m.
