DalCorobbo Bounces Back

Aug 17, 2015

After a disappointing finish at the Indiana PGA Assistants Championship, John DalCorobbo bounced back.  DalCorobbo of Brickyard Crossing GC posted a 3-under-par, 68 during the opening round of the Indiana PGA Senior Championship and leads by one heading to tomorrow’s final round.

“Obviously there was a series of unfortunate events that happened at the Assistants Championship, but overall I’m very happy with the year I have had so far,” DalCorobbo said.  “My goal this year was to win all three PNCs, so I’m hoping for the last two at this point.”

Dalcorobbo has competed in 14 Professional National Championships, an Assistant Professional National Championship and last year’s Senior Professional Championship.

“As the season winds down, it’s a great feeling to have a national event to compete in,” DalCorobbo said.  “I’m excited to have an exemption, but a win this week would be really be great.”

After finishing in the top 35 in last year’s Senior PNC, DalCorobbo qualified to participate in the 2015 Senior PGA Championship at the Dye Course at French Lick Resort. There, he made the cut and is exempt for this year’s Senior PNC.

The 2015 Senior Professional Championship will be held in Seaside, Cali. at Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Courses, a pair of Northern California’s most challenging public venues.  The event will take place October 15-18.

“It would mean a lot to me to win this event,” said DalCorobbo about the Indiana PGA Senior Championship.  “I’ve put myself in a good position after today, but there are still some really great players out there.”

Five players will qualify for the Senior Professional National Championship, in addition to DalCorobbo.

Tim Holt of Granger is currently second at 2-under-par.
