With his playoff victory over Timothy Wiseman at the Indiana PGA Southern Open, sponsored by Cunningham Golf & Utility Vehicles- Yamaha, at Covered Bridge G.C., Keegan Bronnenberg became just the second amateur to card career wins at both the Indiana PGA Southern and Northern Open 
events.
“Winning both of the titles means more than anyone could believe,” said Bronnenberg. “Competing against great players in the state of Indiana and winning gives a confidence boost that not very many people my age get.”
The 19-year-old from Muncie is in a bit of transition after spending the first half of his Freshman year of college playing for Fort Wayne. Since that time, Bronnenberg has transferred and enrolled at Ball State where he plans to join their Men’s Golf Team next season. “After a first year of college that didn't go the way I expected, I feel the most important thing for me is to have a good grasp on my emotions,” said Bronnenberg when asked about the focus of his game this year. “The goal is to have a great summer and make a great transition back into college golf this fall at Ball State.”
Playing in one of the first groups of the day, Bronnenberg had just over a five-hour wait after his round before he knew he would be headed to a playoff with Wiseman, one of his new Ball State teammates. When asked what his mindset was during that downtime, Bronnenberg noted, “After finishing my round I had lunch, then after all of the morning wave had come in I still had the lead. So Kayla (his girlfriend and caddie) and I went to the Louisville Zoo where we spent about two hours taking my mind off of golf. Before leaving (the zoo) I saw that Timothy had tied me, but I didn’t think too much about it on the way back to the course.” Once in the playoff, Bronnenberg birdied the second extra hole to win the title.
Bronnenberg’s Northern Open win came in 2015 when he holed out on his final hole at Delaware C.C. to force a playoff to win his first career Indiana Golf title.
