Back-to-Back: Wiseman Secures Second Straight PGA Championship Appearance

Apr 30, 2026

Indiana Professional Golf Association, BANDON, OR (April 29)–

Seven Indiana PGA Professionals teed it up at the 2026 PGA Professional Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, competing against a field of more than 300 of the top club professionals from across the country. Franklin Crist, Vince Drahman, Quinn Griffing, Jeff Marsh, Dave Pugh, Eric Steger, and Timothy Wiseman represented the Indiana Section on one of the game’s premier national stages.

At the center of the week was Timothy Wiseman, who delivered a composed and consistent performance to earn a spot on the Corebridge Financial Team and secure his place in the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. In doing so, Wiseman will represent the Indiana PGA Section on golf’s biggest stage for the second consecutive year—an impressive accomplishment that underscores both his consistency and ability to perform at the highest level.

Wiseman opened the championship with a round of 72 at Pacific Dunes before making a significant move in the second round. A 2-under 70 on Monday, highlighted by a front-nine 31, vaulted him into contention and positioned him firmly inside the cut line. Facing the demanding conditions of Bandon Dunes, Wiseman followed with a round of 74 on Tuesday to remain within reach of the top 20 entering the final round.

With little margin for error, Wiseman closed with a steady 73 on Wednesday, finishing the championship at 289. His ability to stay composed down the stretch proved critical, as he maintained his position among the top finishers to secure his return trip to the PGA Championship.

Qualifying for the PGA Championship is one of the highest honors for a PGA Professional, and doing so in consecutive years places Wiseman in rare company. His back-to-back appearances highlight not only his individual performance, but also the strength of the Indiana PGA Section on the national stage.

Eric Steger also represented the Indiana Section well throughout the championship, showing resilience across the four rounds and competing against one of the deepest fields in professional golf. His experience and competitiveness were evident as he navigated the challenging conditions that defined the week.

Bandon Dunes proved to be a formidable host, with firm conditions and coastal winds testing every aspect of a player’s game. Through it all, Indiana’s professionals competed with pride, highlighted by Wiseman’s return to the PGA Championship and another strong showing for the Section.
